In response, the concept of the “smart city” has gained prominence as an urban development model that leverages information and communication technology (ICT) to enhance sustainability, efficiency, and quality of life. The evolution of smart cities is transforming how we live, work, and interact with urban environments. Central to this transformation of smart cities is building information modeling (BIM). BIM is a digital methodology that creates a multidimensional, data-rich representation of a building or infrastructure asset. It has evolved into a comprehensive knowledge management platform that supports the entire lifecycle of urban infrastructure - from initial planning and design through construction, operation, and eventual decommissioning.
